Turn the Talk and Amy Kean present at Affiliate Links event

The team behind Turn the Talk are more than a little bit excited to be supporting the “Affiliate Links - Future Leaders” event on 18th March.

This event has been organised by the Performance Industry’s D&I Steering Group. The event is free and is open to anyone who has joined the performance marketing industry since 2019.

We’re all relishing the opportunity to attend an in-person event again, but what’s the goal of the event?

The D&I group wanted to recognise that individuals joining the industry since 2019 may not have had the same opportunities to network and meet others. And because we know these individuals will become the leaders of the future the afternoon has been curated to support with learning, networking and personal development.

As part of the afternoon Turn the Talk are delighted to be hosting Amy Kean’s session, entitled 'How to love your voice (and own the room)'

Amy Kean

Amy is founder of Six Things Impossible, a creative experimentation company, and has been in the ad industry for almost 18 years in strategy and innovation.

After running marketing and PR for the Internet Advertising Bureau around the time digital was starting to take off, she helped launch the social divisions of the Havas Group and held leadership positions in Mindshare APAC and Publicis, as well as working client-side on Coty's digital transformation.

But that's the boring stuff. She's also a bestselling author and poet, cultures editor of shots magazine and the founder of Practice Makes UnPerfect, a course designed to help women finesse their public voices.

Amy’s Session will discuss 'how to love your voice (and own the room)'

We asked Amy for a little teaser on what her session will cover…

“Far too often people hate the sound of their own voice... and too many people are reluctant to bang their own drum in case they seem arrogant or self-indulgent. But my session will be about using your voice to add true value, with discipline and form, and to own the room in the most YOU way possible.

'Owning the room' is about having confidence in what you say, but confidence should be earned and not just a gift of privilege we're born with. So in this session I'll talk through how we can sharpen and hone our voices to be unique, engaging and even louder!”
